In 2009, following careers in IT, Clarissa & Nick began their search for the perfect venue to build their dream of a Yoga studio for all. They wanted to create a space that was about one thing only: the health and well being of everyone who walked through the door. They started with the Hot studio – after 10 years of teaching hot yoga in studios across the world, Clarissa wanted to bring the joy of hot yoga to Guildford! In March 2011 the doors to the ‘Red’ studio opened and RHY have been offering students a variety of hot yoga classes ever since, including the signature ‘Red Hot’ class.
In November 2013, RHY opened its second floor, with three new studios. The aim was to become a true multi-discipline Yoga venue and offer as wide a range of Yoga classes as possible. Today there are over 80 classes a week in a wide variety of disciplines. In 2014 the studio welcomed its first Pilates teacher and never looked back! Pilates is the ideal compliment to Yoga and so it was a natural progression to offer mat Pilates classes, which have proved to be extremely popular and are available for all ages and abilities.
Much more importantly, we have a wonderful community of teachers, staff and students who all make the studio the joyful place it is! We want everyone who comes to Red Hot Yoga to feel like it is a home from home – a place to relax, unwind, meet lovely people and have a break from the stresses of modern life.
I have a relaxed & open approach to teaching and use simple language and gentle encouragement to help people focus on their yoga journey, whatever that might be to them.
My passion is watching my students develop physically, mentally and emotionally. I became a Yoga teacher to try to inspire others, as I have been inspired.
Following a vinyasa style, my classes are often supported with carefully curated playlists which helps encourage students to take their practice to their own limit.
In my classes I gently guide students through strong & dynamic flows. I love to share my passion of yoga with others, believing in and embracing the many benefits that it has to offer.
As a teacher, I love seeing the progression of new students in their honeymoon of discovery on the mat. As a student, I am forever grateful for the practice.
Asana practice is like a key that unlocks a different place of strength, love & vulnerability. I share from this place of discovery and hope to inspire others to stay with their practice and find this too.

Yoga makes you feel better - that is why I love practising and teaching; it reminds us to check in with ourselves, to observe and breathe.
I am truly grateful to be able to teach and share with others what has inspired me so much over the last few years. I love seeing the positive and uplifting changes within my students, and how there is no end to how much you can grow and learn with Yoga.
