“The practice of yoga is the practice of meditation”

“The practice of yoga is the practice of meditation”, Erich Schiffman
In our monthly meditation class we will begin with a gentle yoga practice to release stored tightness and free up blocked energy making it easier to sit before moving into our pranayama (breath practice) and meditation.
This week’s mindfulness meditation class will focus on using our breath to enable the body to expand and release. We will also spend time learning how to relax mentally, to embrace the peace and quiet of our practice.
Through regular meditation practice we recognise there is no need to maintain specific conditions of any kind, for instance, we react less to distractions, noises and become less caught up with the conversations in our head that pop up during our practice.
This class is suitable for all, from beginners to more experienced students. We hope you can join us for this month’s practice. Namaste.
Denise has been practising meditation for many years and also teaches meditation with her private yoga clients and here at Red Hot Yoga.
She was first drawn to meditation in the 1990s when she was living in Scotland, exploring different approaches with different teachers. Most recently she has studied with Elena Brower and takes continued influence from international teachers such as Dr Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and Maya Fiennes.
Denise’s approach to teaching meditation is the same as her approach to teaching yoga – to practice and to take continued study with inspirational teachers to engage students from a well-informed, compassionate place.
