Yoga is the ideal outlet for all pregnant women, regardless of their regular exercise regime. Gentle and strong, Yoga teaches you to understand your body and provides a calming experience, whilst simultaneously preparing your flexibility, stamina and mental focus for your birth, strengthening the bond between you and your baby.
The breathing practice during pregnancy yoga helps open the chest and improves circulation to the mother and baby, ensuring a better supply of oxygen to the blood. It also invites a better control of breathing during labour thus reducing stress for you and your baby.
We currently run three pregnancy classes a week, at various times of day. Please book in advance if you wish to attend pregnancy classes and complete and sign our registration form and bring it along with you. The pregnancy classes are currently held on Saturdays at 3pm for 75 minutes.
Due to the nature of pregnancy classes, the number of attendees is limited to 20 per class. It is highly recommended you reserve a space in class, which can be done via the schedule page.
In order to book into class you must have a valid class package, which you can purchase from the prices page.
You will also need to complete and sign our registration form (you can print it out and bring it with you for your first class).
We also offer each student new to the studio an introductory package for £29.99. This package is valid for unlimited access to all classes for 15 consecutive days (although if you are pregnant we highly recommend you do not come to any hot classes!).
Pregnancy is a delicate time in any woman's life and care must always be taken when considering exercise when pregnant. It is not recommended to engage in any new exercise during the first trimester and so we only permit those who are 12 weeks or more into their pregnancy into our classes. We will only make exceptions to this if you have been practising yoga regularly for at least a year and have the express consent of the studio.
There is no point at which it is too late to begin pregnancy yoga classes - any time from 12 weeks up to the birth is absolutely fine and you are most welcome to attend post-natal.
We recommend you wear whatever clothing you feel most comfortable in, so long as it allows you as much freedom of movement as possible. Our studio is set at a comfortable temperature for pregnancy classes - just a little higher than normal room temperature.
